Wednesday Night Golf League Rules
Country View Course and Local Rules
Official start tee off time for the Wednesday Night Golf League is 5pm.
To address the issue of not turning in a score
card on League Night a penalty will be assessed. The basic
calculation for this will be (par 36 + your current handi-cap + 1) so if you
missed a week you would get for example: 36 + 10 + 1 = 47
for that missed week. This penalty will be indicated in
"green font" for that week beside the player's
name. Remember you can
"golf off" prior to as long as you play the league tee colour for
that particular League night. There is a Navistar drop box in the Pro Shop
where you can drop off your score card and you can have a Pro Shop staff sign and date
your card as verification. If we do not get a score card for that week,
you will be assessed with this new penalty so please ensure that you get your
card turned in. Last of all remember that this is a "fun league" so this
penalty is not meant to be harsh in any way, just another incentive to come on
out a play!
Players are responsible
for their own correct scorecards. Please ensure your
scorecards are legible, complete with full names and turned in the the
Official Score Person.
Tee times are based on first come-first off basis. This is a courtesy call based on the honour system. There will be a sign up clipboard available on the First Tee Blocks for foursomes to "sign-in". If your foursome is not ready to tee off for any reason, please fall back one slot till ready. We ask that you do not cut in or go off as a twosome or threesome if there is a heavy backlog of players waiting on the tee, split up or invite someone to come along so we can get everyone off in timely fashion. This will become crucial later in the season so please adhere to this rule and lets make the Wednesday Night Golf League a fun night for all who come to play. Closest to the Pin feature is optional for members only every Wednesday night with prizes for being closest to the pin while being on the green.
The Longest Drive / Closest to the Line Contests are held on "Social Nights", (second Wednesday of the month). This is a Wednesday Night Golf League feature for members only and prizes will be awarded to the winner. Drives must be within the designated fairway.
Guests are welcome to join in a foursome anytime there is a void. Paid league members will have first come tee-off options. Guests scores will not count towards any league features. Dinner Guests at the Closing Day Tournament are also welcome (price to be announced).
Foursomes are encouraged by this League and preferred by CountryView GC, please adhere to all Country View's GC Rules. Please limit your group to a foursome unless your group is last to tee off. Playing with different League members is also encouraged!
The 51% attendance rule shall apply in the event of inclement weather. If less than 51% of the league finishes it's round on league date due to inclement weather conditions, the league date will be suspended for that week.
CountryView's Rain Check policy will apply upon finish of the 5th hole, if you tee off on the 6th hole, no rain check will be issued and your round will be considered complete. So remember, please adhere to course (Marshall) weather warnings and if weather becomes a factor, do the right thing! Head for the Pro Shop and get a Rain Check!
Please remember to be a

The most important rule for the Wednesday Night Golf League is Rule #6 which clearly states that the chairperson reserves the right to execute Rule #6 whenever the situation is deemed necessary.
